My mom has been building decorative and functional ceramic art since the early 80’s when she went to college for the first time at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon where I was born and raised. I remember her college days, because I was there. I was seven or eight when she started school. She finished her college degree in 2012 at 70 years old! She was the oldest graduate at University of Nevada Reno that year! It was awesome to see her walk across the stage and receive her diploma in psychology with a minor in ceramics. My mom was always creative with other things besides ceramics like baking, quilting, drawing and decorating our homes.
